Zambia

Sweden and Zambia have had large-scale development cooperation since Zambia’s independence in 1965.  Zambia has been one of the biggest recipients when it comes to Swedish aid with the main purpose to contribute to poverty reduction.

Sweden is contributing to Zambia’s national development plan (FNDP) with the long-term goal to create job opportunities for Zambians and ensure their welfare.

Within the framework of the Meeting Points Mining project, the Swedish Trade Council (STC) has carried out a pre-study on the mining and mineral sector in Zambia. The objective is to facilitate cooperation between Sweden and Zambia in this sector. Read the pre-study here.
